Time is a responsive DLE 21 template for a news site, a city outlet or an editorial blog. Strict newspaper typography, large headlines, plenty of air and two themes — light and dark, switched with one button.
Highlights
- “Listen to the article”: any story is read aloud right in the browser — with voice and speed choice, paragraph highlighting and progress. No services or keys.
- Formats look different: video with a YouTube, RuTube, VK or mp4 player, photo report with a large gallery and full-screen view, podcast with a player and clickable timestamps, opinion with a big quote and its author. A format turns on by filling one field.
- A home page like a big outlet’s: top-stories slider, “Trending now”, “Topics of the day”, an “Hour by hour” timeline, section tiles, a “How many minutes do you have?” filter, “Photo and video” and “Opinions” rows, three section columns, podcasts with a mini player.
- “Summary”: a 5-day forecast, exchange rates and “City today” for your city, updated automatically.
- Article page: reading progress and “N min left” in the header, A−/A+ text size, table of contents, “In brief”, key figures, “Useful / Like / Doubt / Against” reactions, author card and “Send a photo or video” for readers.
- Section page: subsections, “Follow the section” and “My feed”, stats, a live chronicle and section authors, grid or list view, “Show more”.
- A morning newsletter “08:00. Five stories” and a weekly section digest — with address confirmation and one-click unsubscribe.
Styled pages
Every DLE page: home, sections, full story, search and quick search, tags, favourites, profile and pop-up profile, private messages, registration, pop-up login, password recovery, add news, statistics, feedback, static pages, threaded comments, polls, print version, “site offline” and DLE messages.
Bundled plugins
The template ships with the “Time: extras” plugin — reading time, weather and rates, topics of the day, reactions, “Follow the section”, the newsletter and reader submissions. There is no settings page: city and currencies are set right in the template. The code is open.
Together with DLE Parser PRO
In the “Extended” version the site fills itself: the module pulls news from RSS feeds and source sites, puts the main photo into the template field and credits the source under the story. Without the module the template works the same — stories are added by hand.
Fonts and Font Awesome icons are bundled, no external requests.

Read-aloud articles
The “Listen to the article” button reads the story aloud in the reader’s browser: voice and speed choice, paragraph highlighting, seeking on the waveform. No external services or keys.

Weather, rates and “City today”
A 5-day forecast, exchange rates, wind, humidity, pressure, sunrise and sunset for your city. Data refreshes hourly; city and currencies are set in a template tag.

“Useful / Like / Doubt / Against” reactions under every story, reading time on cards, a “Under 5 minutes / Long read” filter and “N min left” in the article header.

Follow sections and “My feed”
Readers follow sections and see their latest stories on the “My feed” page. Each section shows its follower count, monthly stats, a chronicle and its authors.

Morning newsletter
Subscription with address confirmation: at 08:00 the five top stories of the day, on Fridays the best of a section. Emails go through DLE mail; one-click unsubscribe.

Reader photos and videos
A “Send a photo or video” form under the story: drag and drop, previews, author consent. Files are stored on the site; editors get a private message and an email.
