DLE Movie Importer PRO is a DataLife Engine module that fills a movie site with films, series, cartoons, anime and TV shows on its own and keeps the catalogue up to date. It takes the catalogue and players from Alloha and Collaps, enriches them with data from TMDB, Kinopoisk and YouTube, and publishes ready-made posts: with a poster, extra fields, categories, a player, episodes, persons and SEO.
The module is built for owners of online cinemas and movie portals on DLE who need more than a one-off import — a site that grows by itself: new films and episodes on schedule, unique texts, pages for actors and collections, translation into other languages and markup for search engines.
Highlights
- Two movie sources: Alloha and Collaps — catalogue, update feed and players; TMDB, Kinopoisk and YouTube add data, images and trailers
- One player: source tabs with your own names, season, episode and voice-over selection, an episode release schedule and emails to subscribers
- Persons and collections: pages for actors, directors and themed collections with their own URLs, titles and sitemap
- AI texts: OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Perplexity and YandexGPT — current models with one button, web fact search, budgets and spending reports
- In every site language: together with DLE Multi-Language, films, persons, episodes and collections are translated
- No duplicates, no losses: films are matched by Kinopoisk, IMDb and TMDB IDs, and manual edits and AI texts are never overwritten on update
Movie sources: Alloha and Collaps
Catalogue, feed and player from each source
- Sources are connected in the "Integrations" section: access key, a "Check" button and the roles "Catalog and feed", "Player" and "Movie data"
- A source can create posts or only enrich those already added: for example, films come from Alloha, while a second player and collections come from Collaps
- "Source priority": for each field you choose whose value to use; an empty value is taken from the next source
- Each source's own data — quality, series status, tagline, budget, box office, digital release, Russian premiere and more — can be written to any DLE extra fields
- The player URL is built at output time, so a player domain change does not require re-saving thousands of posts; the current Collaps player domain is picked up automatically
Movie data: TMDB, Kinopoisk and YouTube
- TMDB — 16:9 backdrop, thumbnail and logo, person data, episode titles and descriptions, release schedule
- Kinopoisk (Kinopoisk API Unofficial) — persons, episodes, release dates and images; replaces TMDB when it is unreachable from your server
- YouTube — the film trailer at import
- Keys for all services are stored in one place and shown masked
Import: what gets to the site and how
Import tasks
- "Update feed" — picks up new films and new episodes since the last run; the main task that keeps the site growing
- "Missed titles" — walks the source catalogue day by day and adds whatever the feed might have missed, for example during server downtime
- "Catalogue" — transfers the whole catalogue of the chosen type in batches to the end: for the initial filling of the site
- "Import by filters" — years and excluded years, genres, countries and excluded countries, age rating, Kinopoisk and IMDb rating, actor, director, producer, voice-over, only with a poster or description, only 4K; the list shows only the filters the source understands
- Import of a single film right in DLE's "Add news": Kinopoisk ID, IMDb ID, a Kinopoisk link or a title — the form fills itself, with players from all enabled sources and, if you wish, with an AI text right away
Categories, extra fields and publishing
- Categories by type — film, series, cartoon, animated series, anime, TV show — and rules like "type + genre → category"
- "Default category": where to put a film with no matching category — or not to import it at all
- Any movie data goes to DLE extra fields; "Computed fields" are built from several values by a template, for example "Season 3 Episode 8"
- Moderation of new posts and separate rules for updating those already added
- Limits and time per run — import does not overload the server
- The site cache is cleared only for news lists and no more often than the set interval — the home page stays fast during import
Posters and images
- The poster is downloaded to your server, resized and saved as WebP or AVIF
- "Crop to exact size" — all posters on the site have the same size
- The image is written in the form the field expects: a DLE image for an "Image" field, a
/uploads/posts/… URL for a text field
- Backdrop, thumbnail and logo from TMDB or Kinopoisk go to separate extra fields
- A very large image does not stop the import, and no temporary files are left behind
Unique texts without AI: templates with conditions
- Title, short and full story, meta tags and the post URL are built from templates with variables:
{name}, {year}, {genre} and dozens more
- Conditions in templates:
[if-year]…[/if-year], [not-year]…[/not-year], [if-type=series]…[/if-type] and nested conditions — different texts for films and series at no AI cost
{actors:3} — the first three actors, {time_hm} — "1 h 55 min", {type_title} — "Film", "Series", "TV show", {premiere_text} — the premiere date in words
- The meta description is cut at a whole word, ratings have one decimal place, and genres do not include "film" or "series"
- The post URL for a film titled in Arabic, Persian and other scripts is built from the Russian title
Series: seasons, episodes, voice-overs and release schedule
One player
- The
{mi_player} tag shows tabs of all connected players in the set order; if the first source has no film, the next one is shown
- Your own "Player name on the site" for each tab — "Player 1", "HD", "Main" — and separately for each site language
- Season, episode and voice-over selection right above the video
- A single source's player via
{mi_player_<source>} tags; for existing templates the player URL can also be written to an extra field
- Themes Aurora, Cinema, Neon, Minimal, Glass, "Same as the site" or your own — with custom colours and corner rounding
- Player splash image and video start from a given second — for example, to skip a series intro
Episode release schedule and subscriptions
- Release dates of upcoming episodes, episode titles and descriptions in the site language — from TMDB, TVMaze and Kinopoisk
- The schedule is filled through a queue and does not get stuck on the same series; in "Smart" mode the series visitors open are checked first
- A "Subscribe to updates" button on series: the visitor gets an email when a new episode comes out
- Emails are sent through a queue, in batches and with retries; the email text is yours, with variables
- "My subscriptions" and "Episode updates" pages on the site
- An episode counts as released when the main player has it or several players do — subscribers get no false emails
- The "Series" section in the admin panel: seasons, episodes and players of each series, editing and deleting episodes, "Refetch episode titles"
Persons: cast and crew
- A separate person database: actors, directors, producers, writers and other contributors
- A person is identified by Kinopoisk or TMDB ID, not by name — namesakes are never merged into one card
- "Data collection" from Kinopoisk or TMDB: photo, biography, dates and places of birth, profession, filmography; people visible on the film page are filled first
- A page for every person and a common list with search, filters by role, gender and country, and sorting
- Title and description templates for pages, schema.org markup; "thin" pages without a photo or biography are hidden from search engines and left out of the sitemap
- Translation of names and biographies with AI
- Template tags: the film's person list, by role, with character names, the main director, counts and more
- In the admin panel — a list with filters and bulk actions, duplicate merging and completeness statistics
Movie collections
- Collections from Collaps: themed ones — "Dystopias", "Oscar winners" — and platform collections
- A page listing collections and a page for each collection with pagination and sorting
- Your own title, description, H1 and text for each collection; default templates with
{name}, {count}, {site}
- canonical, BreadcrumbList and ItemList markup, noindex for collections with few films, 404 for non-existent ones
- In the full story — links to the film's collections and all parts of the franchise
{mi_collections_menu} and {mi_collections_cards limit="12"} — a menu and collection cards with a poster collage anywhere in the template
- Collection contents are updated on schedule and with a button in the admin panel
AI texts
Services and models
- OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, xAI Grok, DeepSeek, Perplexity and YandexGPT; a main service and fallbacks in case of failure
- "Refresh models" — the model list is loaded from your account together with prices and split into "Recommended", "Other available" and "Not in your account"
- Request parameters adapt to the model: reasoning, its depth and wording freedom are shown only where the model accepts them
- AI requests can be routed through a proxy
- "Test connection" for each service and "Test on a post" — a before/after result and the price before publishing
What the AI writes
- Short and full description, meta description, keywords, tags and any extra fields; the title — optionally
- "Instructions for AI" with variables inserted by a click and a "Restore default" button
- "Write when there is no description" — the AI writes a film description from its title
- "Do not publish before AI texts" and background processing of posts already published
- "Web search": models that support it check facts before writing; search can be limited to chosen sites and a number of queries
Budget and spending
- A daily and monthly budget for each service and a warning when it is running out
- Spending by day and month, by service and model; the balance — for services that report it
- Out of money or key rejected — the service pauses with a clear reason instead of hundreds of empty requests; the pause lifts by itself or with a button
Multilingual with DLE Multi-Language
- Together with the DLE Multi-Language module, AI translates everything about a film into the site languages: title, short and full description, meta tags and selected extra fields
- Person biographies, episode titles and descriptions, collection texts — in the language the visitor chose
- Translation mode — "Right at import" or "Scheduler only": a separate task translates the queue in the background, respecting the AI budget and pauses
- Re-translation happens only when the source text has changed
- Player tab names in each language, a separate person sitemap for each language and hreflang
SEO and sitemap
- schema.org markup: film or series, seasons and episodes, video, rating, actors and directors — merged into DLE's own markup or added as a separate block on older versions
- Persons and collections are added to the DLE "Sitemap" separately, with their own priority and frequency
- URLs of person, collection and subscription pages are set in the "Friendly URLs" section
- Your own title and description templates, canonical and 404 for non-existent module pages
Synchronization and reliability
- "Synchronization" compares published posts with the source and fills in missing fields
- AI-written texts and manual edits are not overwritten on update
- A film is matched by Kinopoisk, IMDb and TMDB IDs — no duplicates appear either on import or when adding manually
- The update feed does not fall behind or stop at the end of the list; on a source error it pauses and retries, and an item that keeps failing is skipped and does not block the queue
- Deleting a post clears the module data linked to it
- Source data is checked before output, and the module's service URLs are closed to outsiders
Scheduler and admin panel
"Scheduler"
- All scheduled tasks on one screen: how often, last run, status and errors
- One secret key for all cron links and a ready-made crontab — only with working tasks and protection against overlapping runs
- "Run now", "Remove pause" and "Reset progress" for each task
Admin panel in DLE style
- Sections "Overview", "Integrations", "Import", "Synchronization", "AI texts", "Persons", "Series", "Scheduler", "Appearance", "Friendly URLs", "Subscriptions", "Collections", "Multilingual" and "Help"
- "Overview" — status of sources and the scheduler, AI spending and recent errors on one screen
- DLE's own look, a hint for every setting, all screens comfortable on a phone
- Four admin languages: Russian, English, Ukrainian and Spanish
- "Help" — all template tags with descriptions; full documentation at doc.dlemod.com
- Module templates are copied into your template with one button; your own styles go to
movie_importer.custom.css, which updates never touch
- Module updates — with a button in DLE's "Plugin management"
